Loss marks a big step back
Any progress that this Orange football team showed in its win over Louisville seemed to come unraveled in the Dome on Saturday afternoon as Syracuse was manhandled by West Virginia, 55-14.
The Orange seemingly found new ways to lose, winding up on the wrong end of a laugher that had the Dome emptying out early.
Although West Virginia certainly didn't play its best football, the Mountaineers still had little trouble handing the Orange their fifth loss of the season.
The blowout marked a new low for this Syracuse program that has continued to fall in the past three years under Greg Robinson.
The program's current woes were only highlighted by the fact that the 1987 undefeated Orange team was honored at halftime in the Dome Saturday.
