BYU facilities impress Hawaiian tackle

The All Poly Camp has been blessing for BYU and continues to be. As has been talked about by coaches, media, parents and student-athletes the All Poly Camp is one of the best and is growing every year. Because of its success and the players that come through is why each year more and more coaches from around the country come to help and get to see the players up close. To give you an example, this year Bob Stoops from Oklahoma came to help. Well one of the athletes that attended was Amu McMoore from Honolulu Hawaii.

For players like McMoore this is a great time to be observed from college coaches and after having talked to McMoore several of those college coaches are now calling. BYU Coach Tujague has been recruiting McMoore since April but got a good look at him while in attendance at the All Poly Camp in Utah. BYU is recruiting the 6-foot-5, 265 pound as an offensive tackle. Before BYU started recruiting McMoore he knew the very basics of BYU, good football team, good business school and a Mormon school. Since then Coach Tujague and Coach Atuaia have shared a lot about BYU but the one that sticks out the most to McMoore, "I like that they told me that they have a contract with ESPN and a majority of their games will be on ESPN. This would be good for me and my family so that they will be able to watch all my games."

One of the nice things of the All Poly Camp is they can take advantage of the distance and take a visit to the BYU campus. McMoore did this and came away very impressed, saying this about the football facilities, "I have also been to Michigan and honestly I think that BYU has better facilities." McMoore also commented on how he loved how BYU puts players in the NFL and that it's a beautiful campus with a great education.

After having gone back to his home in Honolulu McMoore have been in contact and just a few days ago Coach Tujague asked McMoore to call BYU Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall. From that discussion with Coach Mendenhall he was offered a scholarship offer, making it second along with Nevada. McMoore who was excited about the offer wants to speak with his family and make decision before his senior year, "Right now, I want to talk to my family about it have a discussion , but right now BYU is above them all because Coach Tujague and Coach Atuaia are such good coache," said McMoore. In that time there may be more competition as McMoore believes Utah is on the heels of also offering him because of their interest at the All Poly Camp.

McMoore wants to major in business and has a goal of playing in the NFL. We will be watching this closely and seeing if other schools begin to offer. Right now the other schools recruiting McMoore who have not offered are Colorado, Utah and Oregon.
