2015 QB signees

BYU has always been successful and getting some of the QB's in the nation. The past few years however BYU has struggled getting the depth behind those top signal callers. This year BYU went out and added some depth to the QB position.
This year BYU landed Kody Wilstead who is a 6-foot-6 gunslinger from southern Utah. Wilstead committed to BYU early which slowed down the offers he would have received. Wilstead is a sign and send, meaning now that he is signed, his next move is sending him on a 2 year LDS mission.

I was told by one former BYU staffer who studied lots of film on Wilstead that he is an NFL QB and at one point his top recruit that BYU had got.
The next recruit that BYU signed is much more of an under the radar guy and that is Beau Hoge out of Kentucky. Hoge is the son of former Pittsburgh Steeler RB and current NFL analyst on ESPN; Merrill Hoge.

I really like this pickup by BYU and so do they. At one point BYU was recruiting a mobile QB who committed to Missouri and then went the JC route; Trent Hosick. He was a commit until Hill said he would be back for another year and him knowing that after that he would be competing with 2013 signee Tanner Mangum. He de-commited and BYU was still after him, until about a week later and they cooled off.
The reason being that they had just got a commitment from Hoge and so after discussing it and thinking, they felt really good with what they had and were okay with him going elsewhere. Hoge really likes BYU, when asked why he signed with the Cougars he said this, "It is a perfect fit for me academically, spiritually and to make it that much better they have a great football program and great men as coaches."
Hoge has plans to play four straight years. What I like about Hoge is he is an athlete, much like Hill he is a good at a lot of things. He also has been around football his entire life, he knows the game with Coach Anae and Coach Beck that will grow so much more.
I think BYU fans should be feeling good about the QB position for the future. To add to the cake, they have committed a gem from the 2016 class in Jaren Hall
