BYU is getting to an early start with the recruitment of Pennsylvania native Darius Wise.
Right now BYU has offers to seven players for the 2017 class. That means 7 student-athletes have a full ride scholarship as sophomores in high school. 4 of the 7 that BYU has offered are being recruited as RB's.

Wise is getting plenty of attention, right now he is getting interest form Ohio State, Penn State, West Virginia, Syracuse, Pitt and Temple. As of right now BYU is the first to offer.
A few months got back when BYU was showing interest Wise had a call with Coach Mendenhall. "Bronco Mendenhall called and wanted to cut to the chase and told me that I could come to BYU and play football and basketball," said Wise.
Wise who is 5-foot-11 and 165-pounds also plays basketball and is getting interest from Maryland and Arizona to play basketball.
Wise says most schools are recruiting him to play DB, slot or QB.
Wise has a few connections to BYU; one of those is that he is a member of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. Also, both of the guardians who he lives with attended BYU.
Though this is very early in the recruiting process there are a few things that stick out to Wise about BYU. "I learned that it's a great college, a great atmosphere and that it is a great school to go to..They play great games, they are a fast and tough. I like how they use there QB like Taysom Hill and how they use him in the run game and also like Tyler Haws (basketball)," said Wise.
