After a rough go against the Wisconsin Badgers, the Cougars will be back at home on Saturday to take on the 3-7 Idaho State Bengals.

The Bengals come into Provo on a four game losing streak with losses to Portland State, Eastern Washington, Southern Utah and Northern Arizona during that stretch. Their other three losses on the season have come against Washington, North Dakota and UC Davis.

The three victories that Idaho State has recorded were against Dixie State, Western State and Northern Colorado.

Saturdays match-up marks the third time that the Bengals have played a Utah school this season and also the second of three times that they will play in Utah.

The Bengals are coached by Mike Kramer, who is in his third season at the helm in Pocatello.

The ISU offense has been impressive so far averaging 418 yards a game, including nearly 338 yards in the passing game.

The offense is led by Red-shirt junior quarterback Justin Arias. Through nine games, Arias had completed 58.7 percent of his passes for 3039 yards and 19 touchdowns. Arias has plenty of weapons in the passing game to help him look good with four receivers averaging at least 40 yards a game.

The wide receiving core is led by a pair of senior wide outs who are having outstanding years as well as two solid freshmen.

Luke Austin is the most dominant of the bunch having caught 56 passes for 844 yards and seven touchdowns in his first seven games. He is joined Cameron Richmond. Richmond had 51 receptions for 616 yards and six scores through the team's first nine games. Freshmen Broc Malcom and Chad Hansen have also played well this year. Malcom had 46 catches for 469 yards and two touchdowns while Hansen tallied 35 receptions for 322 yards and a pair of scores in their first eight games of action.

The Bengal running game only averages about 80 yards a game and most of that comes from sophomore Xavier Finney. Through nine games, Finney had amassed 664 yards and four touchdowns on 150 carries. Finney is also a valuable piece of the passing game with 25 receptions for 183 yards and another score.

Through the first nine games the Bengal defense was giving up an average of 454 yards of offense and 30 point a game to their opponents.

Some players to watch out for on the defensive side of the ball are Mitch Beckstead, Cody Sorensen, Tanner Davis, and Austin Graves.

Junior linebacker Mitch Beckstead is having a fantastic year for the Bengals. Through nine games, he was leading the team with 74 tackles and also has five tackles for loss. Beckstead is also stout in passing situations coming up with a team leading three interceptions as well as five pass break-ups.

Junior defensive lineman Austin Graves has been a menace to opposing quarterbacks and led the team through nine games with five sacks and 9.5 TFL's.

Sophomore defensive back Cody Sorensen is second on the team with 56 tackles and also has recorded four pass break-ups. He is joined in the defensive backfield by senior Tanner Davies. Davies was third on the team through nine games with 54 tackles.
