Elias Miller makes his decision and chooses BYU

BYU has been on a streak of picking up commitments that last two weeks. The first last week from DT Tevita Mounga, then early this week LB Jeremiah Ieremia. This time they get some speed and explosiveness on the offensive side of the ball. In a tweet RB Elias Miller made his commitment to BYU.

Miller who visited BYU in the summer with his family said he always kind of felt that BYU was the place, but never fully committed. "I was waiting to see what other schools were going to show interest and also see how BYU's season went and they are doing a lot better than I thought they would. And again honestly I wanted to see what other schools would offer me," said Miller.
As Miller and his father watched his brother play basketball they talked about the recruitment process and decided it was time to end it. They felt like BYU was the place for them and there is no reason to wait.
Last night Miller called his running backs coach, Mark Atuaia and told him the news that he would be pulling the trigger and fully commit to BYU, which caused excitement from Coach Atuaia.
Not only did Miller and his family get to see BYU in the summer, but two weeks ago when BYU took on Virginia they were there for the game, which Miller acknowledges was another big reason in committing to BYU.
"I wanted to see what their fans were like because I have heard from people that there fans are crazy and I watch a lot college football on TV and have seen BYU and their fans are nuts and so I wanted to see it for myself and I was able to see that against Virginia."
Along with the atmosphere and fans at BYU, another big reason for his commit is how he has been treated by current players on the team, particularly RB Jamaal Williams.
"When I talk to other football players at other colleges they are cocky, they act like I'm somebody and you're nobody type of a deal. But with me and Jamaal we just clicked, he and I just had great conversations. I don't if it is because he is just a year or two older than me or if that is just the way he is, but all the players are great and especially Jamaal. He talks to me like a real person and doesn't act like he is better than others," said Williams.
The BYU coaches are doing a fine job of finding those talented football players who will thrive in the BYU environment, Miller is one of the kids. He shares how it is one of things he looks forward to most. "The thing I look forward to the most at BYU is probably is experiencing the lifestyle at BYU because it so different than every other school. I want to experience it for myself; I am tired of being the same atmosphere so I can't wait, I am ready to enjoy it."
Another thing that Miller is looking forward to is BYU's future schedule. Particularly two teams from California, USC and UCLA. Here's why; "USC and UCLA both offered running backs that I know that I am better than. And I have had opportunities to show that I was better than them, and I went to Nike and NFTC and one of them committed to UCLA and I was like wow so I feel like they over looked me. But it will be okay, after I get to BYU they will know who I am," said Miller.
That something BYU should like to see, a little swagger and a chip on his shoulder to prove something. Miller said he has some BYU gear, could always use more but really wants to get a flag to hang in his room.
