Jackson McChesney reflects on the BYU offer
BYU offers 2017 prospect Jackson McChesney out of Lone Peak High in Alpine, UT. McChesney who has been spotted at multiple BYU practices during fall camp first started hearing from BYU this summer.
In June when BYU holds it football camps, McChesney was one of the attendees who because of impressive performance was pulled off to the side by Coach Poppinga and told to run drills with the older players. One of the older players McChesney went up against several times is BYU commit Dayan Lake.
McChesney is currently being recruited as a RB by BYU. Earlier this summer at a Nike camp McChesney was clocked with a 4.49 40 and 35 inch vertical.
"When they started showing interest it was really cool because not a lot of sophomores get interest from colleges. BYU was always the team I cheered for growing up but my dad went to Utah and I have lots of uncles and family that went to Utah State and I have grandparents who live in Alabama so I have been cheering for lots of teams," said McChesney.
Right now it is very early in the recruitment process and so for McChesney the plan is to get better and get more interest from other schools. McChesney says he likes all the in state schools but would also like to hear from Stanford as well as Auburn and Alabama.
