RANK | PLAYER | REASON |
---|---|---|
#1 | Matt Bushman | Bushman had an exceptional Spring. He is the #1 playmaker on this offense and seemed to develop connections with each of the QB's. |
#2 | Zach Wilson | Freshman QB Wilson exceeded expectations and has "a very high ceiling" according to Coach Roderick. Will be pushing the other QB's to start come fall camp. |
#3 | Micah Simon | WR Coach Fesi Sitake called Simon the "alpha dog" of the WR corp. He'll be the leader of what looks to be an improved WR group. |
#4 | Sione Takitaki | So far, the transition to OLB has been a success. Takitaki looks to continue to pressure the QB, but have more of an impact playing linebacker. |
#5 | Zach Katoa | The reason Katoa is ahead of Canada/Burt is because of his breakout spring. Katoa was very consistent, has great field-vision, and provides more depth for the RB's. |
#6 | Khyiris Tonga | Tonga was out for parts of Spring, but was completely dominant when on the field. Look for him to have another great year. |
#7 | Tristen Hoge | Notre Dame transfer Tristen Hoge has already become a leader for the OL. He has all but locked up the starting RG position. |
#8 | Dayan Ghanwoloku | Ghanwoloku has switched to safety and coaches feel great about that transition thus far. |
#9 | Zayne Anderson | Zayne Anderson has also made a position change to linebacker. In practice, he has shown he can rush the passer and still cover due to his speed. |
#10 | Christian Folau | Folau will be pushing Butch Pau'u for playing time. He's a strong man and very fundamentally sound. Christian has a bright future at BYU. |
Honorable Mentions | Squally Canada, Trevion Greene, Brady Christensen |
